Tournament cloning

This tutorial shows you how to clone a Tournament. You can clone any previously created Tournament, whatever its status (Started, Finished, or Cancelled).

You can read our step-by-step guide or watch the Tournament cloning video tutorial.

VIDEO TUTORIAL

Explanatory subtitles are added to the video.

Please note that the video provided might not correspond visually 100 % with the current interface, as we are constantly improving and introducing new features. However, the video will provide all the information needed for the explanation.

Step 1: Navigation

In your CompetitionLabs space, navigate to Promotions → Tournaments & Rankings Advance → + New Tournament. Here you will see a list of already created Tournaments.

The list shows pre-created Tournaments by Label, ID, Status, eligible Products, and participating Members.

Cloning is easy – just press the Clone (Clone Tournament) button to clone a selected Tournament.

Three things are not cloned in the Tournament cloning process:

  1. The Status of the Tournament – When you clone a Tournament, it will be in Ready state.
  2. The Start and End dates of the Tournament – You need to select a new Start and End time and date for the Tournament.
  3. The Tournament ID, which uniquely identifies a particular Tournament. Cloning creates a new ID for the cloned Tournament.

Step 2: Cloning the Tournament

The cloning process copies all the information from the pre-created Tournament, so all the Tournament fields are populated.

As noted before, only a new date and time need to be selected for the cloned Tournament. If you are satisfied with it, press the Next button until you reach the final confirmation screen, then press the Finish button to complete the cloning process.

You can edit the cloned Tournament information if necessary. No additional editing restrictions are applied.

For example, if a new Product is selected or an existing Product is removed, review the Tournament Rules to ensure they still match the updated configuration.
